Disillusioned Brits still heading for Tenerife

1 December 2008 No Comment
For many Brits the credit crunch hasn´t killed their dream of living in the sun, it has focussed their minds on what they really want out of life. Tenerife meets all their requirements, a sunny year round climate, a good mix of other ex-pats and friendly locals, good schooling, a relaxed lifestyle and a safe environment for their family.
A recent survey by Foreign Currency Direct, published in the Your Money section of The Daily Express, showed why 1,000 people are leaving the UK every day. Top of the list with 51 % was the cost of UK living, close behind was the weather. Crime weighed heavily on peoples minds and the problems of getting on the UK property ladder.
Currency rates will inevitably go up and down and tax seems set to rise for a few years to come in the UK. Against that, people are weighing up the constants from an overseas home like Tenerife, the weather, the beaches, the culture will always be part of Tenerife life and property prices are amazingly affordable compared with the UK. The move to the sun has never been more attractive, and the reasons in favour still stack up well.
